This picture was taken when I visited the island of Chiloe during the summer of 2015. I took this photo in Castro, the capital of Chiloe. I like it a lot because it shows a typical place and scenario of the city. I traveled there backpacking  with some very good friends, it was five of us in total and stayed there for two weeks. We explored most of the island`s towns and the landscape was beautiful, full of native fauna and trees.

The people of Chiloe build some extraordinary houses right on the sea, standing tall on top of pillars. They are called "palafitos" and they have becomed a tourist attraction. I would love to come back to visit this wonderful place every summer and enjoy what it has to offer.
